The Boffs behind Math Boff

Math Boff was born from our shared passion for mathematics and our years of tutoring high school students while at university. Through our tutoring experience, we saw firsthand how important a strong foundation in mathematics is — not only for success at school and university, but also for developing the problem-solving skills and resilience that are valuable in any career.
Today, working in the corporate world, we use the same problem-solving skills that mathematics taught us. We've always loved helping students make sense of challenging concepts, build confidence through understanding, and discover the beauty and enjoyment of mathematics.
That's why we started Math Boff. Our goal is to help students build strong mathematical foundations and learn how to approach problems with confidence, logic, and persistence — skills that will serve them well wherever life takes them.

At school I enjoyed maths, biology, and chemistry, but what drew me to maths was the way complex problems could be broken down into simple, logical steps. This led me to study a BSc in Biomedical Mathematics and, as my interest in maths grew during university, I went on to complete an Honours degree in Applied Mathematics. I tutored high school maths throughout my studies, where I discovered how much I enjoyed helping others understand the subject and develop a love for maths. I've always believed that confidence comes from understanding. I now work as a consultant, where I rely on the same problem-solving skills built through maths at school and university.

From a young age I've enjoyed mathematics and its applications to real-world problems. This led me to complete an undergraduate and honours degree in Actuarial Science, while tutoring maths and statistics part-time. I'm currently consulting at an actuarial firm, drawing on the foundational concepts I learned in high school and university to solve interesting problems.
